As part of a school project, I developed a data visualization web app that allows users to explore the family structure of viruses within the animal kingdom. Built using SvelteKit and D3.js, the tool visualizes complex data from the Naturalis API, offering an interactive and engaging way to view virus classifications.
The app presents a clear, intuitive layout that allows users to navigate through hierarchical data, showcasing the relationships between different virus families. My focus was on ensuring that the interface was both user-friendly and visually appealing, with smooth transitions and interactions powered by D3’s powerful data-driven visualization capabilities.
This project not only allowed me to apply my skills in web development and data visualization, but also gave me the opportunity to create a tool that simplifies complex biological data for educational and research purposes.
